Rugby Sentinel uses a four-part lens. It is ecological thinking applied to a human sport, not a mascot.

Trigger

An event or change capable of perturbing the system: a World Cup, an Olympic cycle, a facility opening, a broadcast deal, a club closure, a welfare rule, a demographic shift.

Transfer

The flow the trigger moves: attention, money, players, coaches, volunteers, legitimacy, land, knowledge.

Reserve

Stored capacity: clubs, juniors, seniors, referees, fields, floodlights, change rooms, institutional memory, rugby identity.

Pulse

The observable response: a registration spike, a new girls’ competition, a ratings bump, a waiting list for fields.

The Olympics are a trigger. The question is whether the rugby system has enough reserve to capture the pulse.
