What Turf City Can Teach Australian Rugby

Rugby Sentinel uses Turf City as a schema prototype: how to hold historic numbers, interpretation, applicability and limitations on the same page without laundering them into a universal law.

The 2019 study reported precinct-wide seasonal sporting usages of about 1.45 million in 2018, about 42,000 event participations, Centaurs rugby usage, Tanglin Rugby Club participation and events, mixed local and foreign user composition, capital invested to date, proposed capital, tenure constraints and facility economics. Interpretation

A precinct can produce large visit numbers and still be fragile if occupation is uncertain. An artificial pitch can show a revenue line and still not justify the next tranche of capital. The SPV that repaid debt in about four years is evidence that a structure existed, not evidence that the same structure would work on a council field in Townsville.

Applicability
